French reporter Marc Epstein and photographer Jean-Paul Guilloteau appear in the district court in the southern city in Karachi, Pakistan, Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003. The court on Saturday denied bail to the two French journalists who have been charged with traveling without permission in southwestern Pakistan and could face years in prison if convicted.
Epstein and Guilloteau, a reporter and photographer working for the French L'Express magazine, were arrested Tuesday after visiting Quetta, near the Afghan border.
